30 Weeks

Tuesday I went to my weekly check up and was admitted to the hospital again. I have dialated to 2 cm and have become 75% effaced. I have also been having random contractions, but the only reason why I know that is because I have been hooked up to a monitor that says I'm contracting... I can't feel them so far.

I just had a level 2 sonogram with the high risk doctor. He didn't seem to be as bothered by my "condition" as my regular doctor. He said it would not bother him to send me back home on bed rest and that he didn't feel I needed medication at this time for the contractions. He also said the risk of my water breaking at home vs at the hospital would be the same as long as I stay off my feet. For now I am still here in the hospital, my doctor has left town earlier this afternoon...so I think I will be here until she returns Monday. If I am super lucky the high risk doctor will convince the on call doctor to let me go home this weekend, but I doubt it.

Tuesday we found out that the boys are still growing perfectly despite my uncooperative cervix. Jack is now about 3 lbs 4 oz and Sam is catching up at about 3 lbs 2 oz. All the amniotic fluid is still looking good and is symmetrical. They are still practicing their breathing and I have even heard each of them have the hiccups on the heart monitors :) We also got a little wave from Sam on the sonogram and could see all five fingers on one of his hands... soo cute!

UPDATE: Tonight the high risk doctor measured Jack at 3 lbs 15 oz and Sam at 3 lbs 3 oz. I thinking Jack has really been enjoying this hospital food!
